The Richardson Research Library at Martyrs Kirk

North Street

The Thomson Research Reading Room is open to all registered PG students (Masters students, please see below), academic and academic-related staff.  Access to the building’s front entrance and to the Thomson Room is controlled by proximity card readers – please have your student/staff ID card with you at all times.

Saturday-Sunday 10.00-00.00 (also open to Masters students during full weekend opening hours)

Spring Vacation

From Friday 10th - Saturday 25th March inclusive our opening hours will be:

Monday-Friday 08.00-21.00 (also open to Masters students from 17.00-21.00)
Saturday-Sunday 10.00-18.00 (also open to Masters students during full weekend opening hours)

Normal semester hours will begin again on Sunday 26th March.

During spring vacation (Monday 13th - Friday 24th March) our opening hours remain unchanged, but the library will be unstaffed (authorised card-holders have access until 20.30).


Chemistry Library

The Chemistry Library in the Purdie Building is now operating on a reference-only basis. Books are not available for loan, although lending copies of some titles are held in the JF Allen Library (Physics building) and the Main Library. Photocopying facilities are available in the library.

Normal opening hours are 09.00-17.00.
